Ashley Allen is an Assistant District Attorney assigned to the Madison County office in Canton. She is a lifetime Madison resident, graduating from Madison Central High School in 2002. She then graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2005 with a major in political science and a minor in journalism. She received her J.D. from Ole Miss in 2008.
While in law school, Ashley served on the Ole Miss School of Law Moot Court Board. She competed in several national moot court competitions. During her third year of law school, Ashley worked in the Civil Legal Clinic helping women obtain legal relief from domestic violence situations. Ashley interned for the Mississippi Attorney General’s Cyber Fusion Center in 2008. She then worked as a law clerk at the Mississippi Court of Appeals and the Mississippi Supreme Court for Justice David Chandler. In 2009, Ashley moved back to Oxford, Mississippi, and worked as a prosecutor for the Third Circuit of Mississippi assigned primarily to cases involving women and children, including sexual assaults, child abuse, and domestic violence. During this time, she acted as a representative from the District Attorney’s Office on the seven multi-disciplinarian teams in her Circuit, as well as teaching regular classes to Rape Crisis volunteer responders.
Ashley is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and Mississippi Prosecutor’s Association.
