Biography for Victim Assistance Coordinator Beth Colbert
Beth Colbert has served as the Victim Assistance Coordinator since 2002 for the Rankin/Madison District Attorney’s Office. She is an advocate for crime victims and provides assistance throughout the judicial process. She initiates and maintains contact with crime victims and notifies them of criminal proceedings, such as hearings and trials. She attends court proceedings with victims and their families; and provides victims with medical, financial and counseling resources. She works with both adult and child victims in preparation for trial.
Beth received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Counseling/Education from Mississippi College. She has formerly worked as an instructor and then as a counselor at Hinds Community College where she currently serves as an adjunct professor.
She is a member of the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA) and the Mississippi Counseling Association. She is a former Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Board Member.
